Llajtasuyo: Yak-ta-su-yo

Llajtasuyo® , with a style rooted in Andean traditional rhythmic musical heritage, brings Andean music back to life with unique slight touch of contemporary influence. Folkloric and traditional music from the Andes region that includes the countries of Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and Chile which are among the richest in the world with regard to variety of musical and folkloric traditions. Our music do not follow a mainstream as each region has its own musical identity in terms of instruments, dance, tuning and rhythm. It seems endless right?

The music style we offer is just a small portion of the music you will find in the Andean region. It is our testimony and effort as part of the survival of such great culture to many changes it has undergone for thousands of year (not hundreds).

Please enjoy our new web site and pass the information to your friends. We are based in Atlanta, Georgia, the "Cultural Capital of the Southeast"!

Llajtasuyo brings wind and percussion instruments that have existed even prior to the Incas, but musical evolution peaked with the Incan empire and the arrival of the Spaniards in the 16th century brought string instruments like the invention of the distinctive charango.
